The Journey

I have gotten a few emails like: What is going on? You're adopting? So, I'll back track and record our journey from the beginning. You can skim for those of you who've already read this. Also, I'll just get started because I only have twenty minutes!
Around Christmas of 06 Roland told me early one morning that he had been praying about something that God placed on his heart. He didn't want to tell me what it was -but wanted to wait and see if God would reveal it to me as well. I sat up in bed and said, "Is it adoption?" I had not been thinking about it at all - but in that moment I knew what it was. So for a few months in early 07 we thought about it and talked about it here and there.
At the Willow Creek Leadership Summit we felt God's call so strongly. Like we were suffocating on the Holy Spirit - the space around us was so heavy with the call.
So, we called an agency. Three weeks later we were given a referral - for Dibora and Yeabsira. At this point we figured we better tell mom and dad!
Now five months has passed and we are leaving on Saturday March 8 to go get our kids. Our FDL letter was expected to take 2 - 4 months to process. Then they would call us and we would travel within 3 - 4 weeks. Well, it only took 1 week and a day to process the FDL. So, our kids are coming home.
Hopefully everyone is up to date now. There are of course a million God stories and miracles and heart journies among this reader's digest version of our story. But, now everyone is caught up??
This morning I worked on getting our travel docs together.
I got an email from my mom yesterday that she was just weeping and praying for our babies. She is such an intercessor. Where would we be without prayer? I don't even want to guess. This is becoming a reality as I fold hand me downs from Katie Johns and realize what a size 6 looks like. Kyle picked up a size 4 winter coat from the Bronkemas last night and said -- HE"S THIS SMALL???!!! Then he hugged the coat.
God is so good.
