12 days before we leave

Submitted by Sarah on Mon, 02/25/2008 - 11:00pm.

Well, I think it's finally hitting me.  I keep looking around the house thinking of more things I want to clean and organize before Gertie and Ollie come home.  I made a really, really long list of things I HAVE to do.  As of 4:00 I crossed off two things.  Yikes.

I had a good cry last night thinking of all the ways God has moved and provided for us -- mixed with all the overwhelming feelings of where to begin getting ready.  Our travel packets help us think of all we need to do - but they mentioned to prepare our hearts as well.  I'm starting to revisit things I thought of when we first began this process that will be a reality soon.

We will arrive jet lagged but high with excitement, meet our beautiful children -can't even begin to describe or imagine what that will be like, and then bring them back with us.  To them we will be the big, tall, white people with smiles that don't speak their language.  Then we get on a plane and come home jet lagged and on different schedules!  Oh, we will need your prayers!

I am so thankful for the God factor.  That things that are crazy and hard turn out okay because God's hand is in it.

Thanks everybody for all your prayers.  Our small group prayed for us last night - and I was trying not to outright weep.  We are so blessed to have you caring for us so deeply through prayer.  Thanks to Robertta and Phil's small group who told God that our kids needed to be home!  How quickly he has answered.  Thanks ladies at my Bible Study - especially Susie.  Your prayers and testimony with your own adoption timing have blessed me.
