Bible Memory and Costco

Submitted by Sarah on Fri, 09/05/2008 - 3:34pm.

We have a verse we learn each week.  We say it at breakfast, lunch and dinner.  I love (not) how my kids are fighting over their turn to say "dear friends, let us love one another..." etc  Ollie is screeching at Gertie "not your turn, my turn, me first."  Hmmm... and its Friday.  Maybe we should spend ANOTHER week on this verse.

Gertie's new favorite word is "Fabulous."  Yes, she loves High School Musical II.  As I type this she is in the living room dancing her routine.  When she watches her favorite movie -- she mouths the words and stands up and dances along with the TV.  We all watch out the corner of our eye - pretending not to see her and trying not to bust out laughing so she doesn't stop.

We have daily adventures.  I step back sometimes and see if there is a hidden camera in my house -- and someone is on the other side laughing.  Thank you, Lord.  We were at Costco last week and Simon had to go potty while I was checking out.  Sure, I say - go potty.  Ollie chimes in that he needs to go too.  Sure, he just wants out of the cart I have jailed him to.  So, I am writing out my check and suddenly Costco erupts in alarms and sirens and the secret Costco security policia are walking swiftly in twos in all directions.  I glance up for a moment and ask the checker-outer person "what's that all about"  -- "oh" he replies: "someone tried to go out a door they aren't supposed to."  back to writing check -- and then I freeze cold -- it's dawning on me...  I nervously mutter that I hope it wasn't my boys.  I get my groceries - I walk toward the bathroom.  Simon and Ollie are walking toward me and the manager tells me he found them cowering in the bathroom.  Simon tells me he will never take Ollie to the bathroom again.
