Loving Summer

The kids had the faved sitter last night while we had a fun date with friends. Kendra, of course spoiled them at the Jersey Junction. Gertie awoke this morning with the comment that: "Everyday mom and dad go bye-bye and eat, everyday Kendra come! Icecream!"
We went to King Park Pool today and I think if we go a few more times they'll be swimming. We weren't allowed to use any floatations so I think that sort of forces them to learn faster. Gertie was dunking her head under the water and holding there until I grabbed her and pulled her up and then she would tell me "i race, not all done, don't touch mom, no!" They are communicating so well -- and a bit on the mouthy side. There is this huge slide with tons of steps and Gertie and Yabi did not tire of climbing to the top and going down with this momma. I was the only one who could go down with them so it was up and down and up and down and now I need a nap.
My friend who has no kids says she loves the chaos at our house. I do too. Although I keep realizing that a year ago I never would have dreamed this!
