brain freeze

Gertie and Ollie were much more comfortable in church on Sunday! Getting used to the building, all the people. Yesterday Roland was holding Gertie and she wanted to get down so she would have two hands to clap to the music.
They got training wheels on their bikes now and even though they still don't have the hang of it - they LOVE it! Oliver has been walking around in his coat and bike helmet (he won't take it off) since 10:30 this morning. I keep showing him the rain... he does not care.
We spent yesterday with mom and dad Van Drunen, great Nan, and my sister's family to celebrate Simon's 9th. Its so wonderful to be past the newness and just enjoy watching them be comfortable and in love with family. They LOVE it at grandma and grandpas. Gertie and Ollie had 6 oranges between the two of them.
We were at the park with my sister's 3 year old twins. I kept having to remind myself that I didn't need to clap my hands every time Audrey and Lydia speak full sentences/ good english. I get SOOOOOOO excited when we learn a new phrase!
Elissa (my sister) in convinced her girls are picking up the amharic language. Or at least Lydia is trying to convince Elissa she knows another language. It's hysterical.
We had fruit smoothies this morning and made juice popcicles for later. They were blown away by the blender. So exciting. We also learned about "brain - freeze" - that was rather funny.
