Another day

In some ways this is so new and in other ways I can't believe we have only been home for three days. They days are soooooooooo long! Roland is so sick. Please be in prayer for him - that he would heal from whatever he has. He needs and wants to work and yet feels terrible. I won't post that he has lost 10 pounds already. : ) - He would NOT like it if I shared that with you all.
The understatement of the year is that the language barrier would be "tricky." Actually it is quite crazy. Gertie is repeating everything we say and then lauging. If you call our house she will shout "HELLO, Dunaneush? HOW ARE YOU? IM FINE THANK YOU! CHOW, BYE BYE! " Then she starts over until you take the phone away. Yabsira wanted to wear his belt - he is nuts about clothes - today and I wasn't understanding and so I thought he had to go potty. We finally figured out what he meant - and he threw his hands in the air and rattled off some ahmharic. How could you be so dumb mom?
I am finding the best way to love Gertie is to teach her English as fast as possible - and so we read 7 books today. Go Dog Go, and Little Bear over and over again.
We're doing pretty well overall - there is some grieving going on - mostly at 3AM.
Thanks for all your prayers people. They are keeping our heads above the water.
